Uncategorized Mads Hoxer rumoured to leave: Could end up in Flensburg Mads Hoxer / Aaalborg Håndbold By Kasper Christensen 13. August 2025 The Aalborg star is on the radar of one of Germany’s best-known clubs. One of Aalborg Handball’s key players may be on the way to a move that will attract attention in both Denmark and Germany. According to German media, the German powerhouse SG Flensburg-Handewitt has earmarked Mads Hoxer as a possible reinforcement from the summer of 2026. The right back is under contract with the Danish champions until 2027, but Flensburg have the financial muscle required to buy him out. Aalborg have previously shown that they do not allow themselves to be pressured by big bids, and that could prove decisive for how this case develops. A previous example with Felix Möller, whom the club refused to sell to THW Kiel, shows that the club management knows how to hold on to its key players. Victory in the Heide Cup final While speculation about Hoxer’s future is swirling, he himself helped secure another triumph for Aalborg Handball. At the weekend the North Jutlanders won the Heide Cup in Germany after an intense final against HSV Hamburg. The match was decided in the final minutes, when Juri Knorr scored twice and sealed the final score at 28–25. This allowed him to contribute to yet another trophy lift for Aalborg, who are currently fine-tuning their form for the new season. A decision that could have consequences Hoxer’s situation is interesting because he plays for a club that is fighting both for titles and to hold on to its biggest stars. According to Hbold.dk, Flensburg’s interest is more than just loose talk, and therefore a game could arise over when and under what conditions a move could potentially happen. For Hoxer himself, his performances on the court are likely to be followed even more closely now that the rumours of a possible move are increasingly lurking in the background.
